S&P 500 Index Monthly Options Expiration Huge Selling! People are making bearish bets on the S&P 500 put contracts that expire on Friday's open print. The S&P 500 Index closed lower Monday by 8.3 points or .62% down to 1,329.47.

We saw high beta names sell off big and saw trading to the downside for the majority of the trading day.
