Firm sasy their contacts say that 3Q11 iPhone production ests have decreased from 26.1 mln to 23.7 mln units (+13% QOQ), while 4Q11 estimates now reflect 32 mln units (+35% QOQ), better than their prior 30 mln unit estimate, and with some room for upside capacity if necessary.

Firm says they understand Apple may be more cautious on overall global demand, may be discounting iPad growth in China given low-priced white box tablet launches (near $300), and may have used higher forecast volumes to drive component and assembly price discounts from Hon Hai, Omnivision, and some PCB makers, according to checks. Firm still thinks chip stocks can and should be bought now for a traditional year-end rally, they mention (QCOM, BRCM, MXIM, ATML, ONNN, IRF, AMD, MSCC, INTC, and TXN.
